Saint Joseph Academy is a Catholic, co-educational, college-preparatory middle and high school (grades 7-12) which for over a century, has been known throughout Brownsville and the surrounding communities as an institution that promotes academic excellence and moral formation in the Marist tradition.

Registration Fee: $650.00 (new students) $600.00 (returning students)
Admissions Test: High School Placement Test (HSPT)
Required Documents: admissions application, academic records, standardized test scores, and recommendation forms.
Entrance Exams
The Reading subtest assesses a student's ability to evaluate vocabulary and reading comprehension. It emphasizes sentence and paragraph comprehension, the ability to find the main idea and to draw conclusions, as well as inferential and critical comprehension.
Usage, grammar, and composition skills are assessed by the Language Arts subtest.
The Mathematics subtest assesses computation skills, concepts, and the ability to apply mathematical reasoning to quantitative problems.
The total running time for the series of tests is approximately three to three and half hours.

If your child requires special accommodations for the entrance exam, please provide documentation of the disability at least fourteen days prior to the entrance exam date.
