The Mighty Bloodhound Band started off the year slowly when a lower than usual enrollment in band forced class scheduling to go to an early morning time slot.  This small group needed an infusion of musical muscle to get the beat going for our home football games.   The call went out to all alumni band members, St. Joe faculty and also parents of current students with musical experience to join the team on Friday evenings for home games.

On Friday, August 31st, the first group of volunteer band members stood in the stands along with the current band members and band director, Marvin Miller, to fill the night with a variety of game songs and also the new SJA Fight Song.  It was a rousing and rhythmic night enjoyed by all.

The next home game is dedication night on Friday, September 21st when the Bloodhounds play the Port Isabel Tarpons.
