Saint Joseph Academy’s  Director of Counseling, Lindsay Irwin was recently selected as an Outstanding Educator by the University of Chicago. Irwin was nominated by Seneca Magallanes ’20 who was accepted into the University of Chicago Class of 2024. The University of Chicago each year asks incoming students to recommend educators that challenged them intellectually or led them to learn more about their personal interests that could strengthen their growth.

A note from Magallanes that was included with the award and certificate said, “While I am not able to share my gratitude in person, I wanted to let you know that I nominated you for this award because you truly are an Outstanding Educator to me. Your support throughout the college application process meant so much to me as a student. You not only made me feel capable of tackling the tasks ahead of me, but you inspired me to work for the future I wanted. Thank you for everything you do for our school community.”

Irwin recently celebrated her 23 years at Saint Joseph Academy.
