"There are no faster or firmer friendships than those formed between people who love the same books."
The Saint Joseph Academy Book Clubs were created to foster a love of reading, encourage discussion on a wide variety of topics, and help prepare students for the academic rigors of college courses. There are separate clubs for Middle Division and Upper Division in order to best serve the age span and interests of the students. Meetings are held once a quarter during lunch in the respective library for each group. Books are selected by the librarian, with input and suggestions from the students, and sold to the members at a discounted price. Members are expected to read the book on their own time and come to the meeting prepared to discuss. The Library provides lunch for the members at the meetings. Members of Book Club must be in good disciplinary standing and be in compliance with the school attendance policy (no excessive absences). There are no officers for Book Club.
