I am greatly honored to be appointed as the Interim Principal of Saint Joseph Academy. I have had the pleasure of being a religion teacher and department chairperson the last three and a half years at SJA. During that time I have come to appreciate the students, parents, faculty and staff who all work together to create a family environment centered on education and creating experiences for students to grow academically, athletically, socially, and spiritually. All of this is rooted in our Catholic faith, following in the Marist tradition. 

While I am a native New Yorker, I am no stranger to being Marist as I attended Archbishop Molloy High School in Queens New York, another proud Marist high school. My first encounter with the Marist Brothers was in high school and has continued throughout my life as I worked at the Mid Hudson Valley Camp located on the Marist Brothers property in Esopus, New York. I also served on the board of directors for the Marist Brothers Center at Esopsus. I am fortunate to count many Brothers among my lifelong friends. Since moving to Brownsville, I have become a Marist of Champagnat, dedicating myself to the values and vision of the founder. 

This is my thirty fourth year in education. I have been a teaching assistant, religion teacher, school counselor, building level administrator and district level administrator. I have worked in Catholic school settings as well as public school. Each of these experiences has shaped me and informed my knowledge of what successful schools do to educate the whole child and provide a system where each student can thrive and achieve their full potential. I look to draw upon those experiences as I work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, staff and parents to uphold and advance the excellence that is Saint Joseph Academy. 

I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the Saint Joseph Academy family and look forward to continuing the great tradition that is SJA.
